Stan
(Pre warning) This is going to be a long post.
I have only been working stan for just over a week. And from his past laterly his owner thought we were going to have to retire him as his antics were getting dangerous, jumping out of arenas with riders on board, rearing vertical leaping, bronking, and bucking. He wasn't very rideable in the school and wouldn't hack out very well.
Well from how well he seemed to be settling being back in work we thought we would have a death wish and take him to a nice low key show. All expecting him to have a complete break down we took him a few inhand classes first, which he was impeccably well behaved to even win all three of his classes and then get champion.
I done a couple of ridden classes afterwards, first a nice little walk and trot, and again his was really well behaved abit tense in the first 2 mins of his show but he relaxed at the end and showed the judges just how flashy he can be to go and win that class too.
We went for the best non plaited next and thought we would give the canter ago what's the worst that could happen really, first time we have rode him in this bridle and it turns out he wasn't to keen on it, thought me abit in canter settled a little bit half way round, he still went nicely enough to win again. Changed the bridle into a standard bridle for the championship and he went beautifully in the out door, so I know what we are going to be competing in next time, but he obviously made a impression because he got champion of the ridden classes and champion for the sponsorship, he quite literally cleaned up.
And to top off we only had two very small rears outside and one tiny buck and considering we were there all day he was amazing.
