Woody

I was asked to do abit schooling with this lovely gent the other week. He's such a honest boy and always try's his hardest for his owner and loaner. But he's a little clueless in certain areas.

Done abit work on the lunge first, seems a natural for his head carriage but struggled doing a 20 metre circle in canter.

When I got on I noticed he wasn't the best at straight lines turning or corners without falling out though his shoulder and having a inside bend. But within 10 mins he suddenly got what I was asking for and went round beautifully on the left rein. Still need alot of work on the right.

Had another lunging session yesterday and even put out raised trotting poles, wasn't quite sure what they were at first and tripped over them, but you only have to ask him twice and he nailed it everytime after that. Managed a full circle in canter without struggling.

So had a little ride afterwards and he obviously remembers from yesterday and he went straight into a little show pony in walk and trot without me having to nag at him. Perfect change of rein and circles. The canter transition still needs work and it's still a bit delayed, but he managed a half decent contact in little bits of his canter. And a half decent inside bend. I dont think it would take him long to get the hang of things as hes such a smart lad.
